Bring It Back

I was invited to the wedding of my old best friend--Heather Harig. We were best friends beginning the summer following 6th grade until about the beginning of 9th. We had a sort of "falling out." But leading up to this falling out we were pretty naughty kids. Then we took off in separate directions. Today I know nothing about Heather other than she has a 6ish-year-old son. Oh, and she is marrying this kid named itchy who went to our middle school. At least that is what people called him. So, needless to say the invitation was very surprising. I have to go, and I want to go, but I'm oh so nervous. First reason: Jon/Amos can't come with me. The support would probably help, you know? But he's booked. For the record, he offered to cancel his Hot Sundae commitment to come, but I told him that wouldn't be necessary. Second reason: there could potentially be lots of people that I was friends with/was associated with during that era of my life (ahhh! What will they be like?!). Third reason: Heather and I never resolved anything, which means this could be a mean prank. Maybe she invited me just to make fun of me with her friends and husband or something. Ok, unlikely, but the point is that I have to be prepared for anything.

Tonight we are having a party and everyone is invited. 7:30ish.

And we named the cat Oliver. You can meet him if you come to our party.

and (?)...

This last guy (and yes he is indeed a male) is the newest addition to our family. He was homeless until a couple days ago. This cat is wonderful. We love him very much. We've provided him with food, shelter, a warm bed, a kitty litter box, even cat nip. Now we just need to have him declawed, neutered, and we need to give him a name. Amos and I can't seem to agree, so we need to help. Here is a list of names that we are considering. We welcome your input.

Come Away with Me

I'm trying to stay up as late as I can tonight because Tuesday night I will begin night shift. It's just past 0130, and I'm not really tired yet. That's encouraging. These days I prefer to tweak the "look and feel" of my xanga as opposed to posting entries. I don't have anything to say anyway. Well, to clarify, I don't have anything that I want to say. I like to let my thoughts just whirl around in my head. Rarely do I let them leak out onto paper/a computer screen. The only time in my life when I was faithful to journaling was in Spain, and even then I stuck to recording only the places I went and people I went with. You know, just so that I wouldn't forget. But never did I dare include my reaction to such events. I'm happy to share (some of)these details verbally, but one will never find them on paper. Who knows whose eyes might fall on them? In fact, I'm tempted to delete all of the above, but I feel like it's high time for a new entry. So there.

Perhaps I said all this previously on xanga. Hmmm... what an idiot.
